David F. J.
David F.J. Campbell is a Vienna-based academic and a quality enhancement expert and quality researcher at the University of Applied Arts who introduces CDS students to the essentials of academic writing and publishing with his First Semester course Basics of Scientific Writing. He is a lecturer and Privatdozent in political science at the University of Vienna and a Research Fellow (Senior Scientist) at the Institute of Science Communication and Higher Education Research (WIHO), Faculty for Interdisciplinary Studies (iff), Alpen-Adria-University of Klagenfurt. David F. J. Campbell studied political science at the University of Vienna, and gained his PhD in 1996. In 2014, Campbell completed his habilitation at the University of Vienna gaining the qualification to teach (venia docendi) comparative political science.
His articles and books on knowledge, innovation, knowledge economy, and democracy (knowledge democracy and quality of democracy) have appeared in various international journals and book publishers. David F.J. Campbell teaches or has taught at the University of Vienna, University of Applied Arts Vienna, University of Klagenfurt, and George Washington University in Washington D.C. (Elliott School of International Affairs). He is Academic Director of the global Democracy Ranking of the quality of democracy (http://democracyranking.org/) and Senior Associate Editor of the following journals and book series: Journal of the Knowledge Economy (JKEC) (Springer), Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (JIE) (Springer Open Access), and Arts, Research, Innovation, and Society (ARIS) (Springer).
