Susanne Lummerding is an expert in the fields of visual culture, media studies, and critical representation politics. As a distinguished academic coach she supports CDS students in developing and executing their CDS projects in the Second Semester course Cross-disciplinary Capabilities as cross-disciplinary communication and collaboration, planning cross-disciplinary projects, clarifying goals, and developing techniques and strategies for professional presentation and communication. She is a lecturer for Transdisciplinary Research in the MA programme for Gender/Queer Studies at the University of Vienna and, as an academic coach, is a board member in two major German coaching associations (Coachingnetz Wissenschaft; and Fachverband gender_diversity e.V.). Until summer 2017 she was a visiting professor in communication, organisation, and professionalisation of practisebased art research at Weißensee Art Academy Berlin. She also held visiting professorships for Media Studies and for Gender/Queer Studies at numerous universities and art schools, particularly in Austria and Germany. Her research focuses are difference/differentiation, subject constitution and agency; mediality, and the notion of the political; theory_practice as an epistemic political concept; anti-identitarian representational critique and agency; collectivity, public space, and agency in current protest movements.
